With the Notes client closed, leave the original desktop8.dsk in place, delete cache.ndk (be sure cache.ntf is there), and delete bookmarks.nsf (be sure bookmarks.ntf is there). On the next launch, desktop8.dsk will be migrated to bookmarks.nsf. That may resolve.
